Biography: Hey everyone, my name is Xavier Diaz, and I am one of the 8th grade American History teachers here at Gateway. I was born and raised in Kansas City where I graduated high school from Lee's Summit West. I went to college at Truman State University where I earned my bachelor's in History. After graduating from college, I moved to St. Louis. I've been married for 2 years and have a son named Austín who will celebrate his 1st birthday in October.

This will be my fourth year teaching and second year at Gateway. I am passionate about history and believe studying history is the key to understanding the world in which we live. I look forward to spending the next year with your kids and getting to know them!
