Teacher's Message: 

Biography: Hello, my name is LaShawn Easley, and I'm the Male Physical Education Teacher/ Health Teacher here at Gateway MTS Middle School.  To tell you a little about me, I have been teaching in St. Louis Public Schools for 29 years. It will be 30 years in January.  I have several degrees. I have a bachelor's degree in Education with a Social Science Concentration, from Ashford University. I also have a Master's in Education from Ashford University and a Masters in Physical Education from Lindenwood University in St. Charles Mo. I have a coaching certificate in the state of Illinois, where I previously coached girls, middle school volleyball, basketball and track and field. I was also the head volleyball coach at E. St. Louis Sr. High. I enjoy working with our students and teaching them the skills and knowledge that was taught to me.  Here at Gateway we are trying to promote a healthy school and, with your help, we are encouraging our students to eat healthily, exercise and drink plenty of water. I will aim to be interactive with my students, as well as encourage them, show them the passion they need, treat everyone equally, as well as hold everyone responsible for their actions. This year I took on an additional role. I'm now the Athletic Director. I must not forget the organization that I belong to. I'm a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., a member of the Eastern Light Order of the Eastern Stars, a member of Aahmes Court of Daughters of Isis of the Mistric Shrine.
