     What is P.B.I.S.?

    Founded In 1997 by IDEA, P.B.I.S. is an amendment created to encourage schools to identify and support positive behaviors in the school setting. In part, P.B.I.S. (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) promotes the development of positive teacher-student relationships and provides students with the foundation they will need to be successful in the future.  At Sumner High, we endeavor to create a positive school climate where students learn, grow,& develop positive interactions to create a better learning environment for all students. The ultimate goal is to encourage students to keep working hard on their core P.B.I.S. values and expectations. We motivate our students by celebrating their personal achievements and positive behaviors demonstrated throughout the school day.
