A Beautifully Foolish Endeavour by Hank Green
One of my all time favorites. A fun science fiction story exploring how humanity responds to the threat of the unknown. I love the puzzling nature of this book and the claim it makes that humanity's greatest strengths just might be our hope, optimism, community, and communication.

Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech
The story of a young girl coping with the absence of her mother by telling stories about her life and friends on a road trip with her grandparents. Charming, witty, heartfelt, and cathartic.
-
For One More Day by Mitch Album
A short, but heartachingly beautiful fiction about what one could learn and how we would change, if we had just one more day with the people who mean the most to us.
TW: death, suicide, alcoholism

An awesome book to help us all have more productive and connective conversations in a world where the internet and cell phones have reduced the expectations and capabilities of everyone to listen and be heard.
-

NurtureShock by Po Bronson and Ashley Merryman
One of the first books that got me into child psychology and thinking critically about how to best meet students where they are at. A little dated at this point, though.
