Mr. Belliston

Hi, my name is Mr. Belliston and this will be my 7th year teaching music in public schools. This will be my 2nd year at CVPA, I love it here and I am so excited to continue to be a part of this amazing team of teachers and performers. Music has been a part of half of my life now. I started out playing the clarinet, before switching to the saxophone in middle school.  I played in both the jazz band and concert band, while working on solo performances throughout high school.  My efforts were rewarded with a scholarship to Brigham Young University – Idaho. While in college, I played in several bands outside the confines of the music college. While playing in Ska/reggae, Soul, Folk, and Gutter Punk bands, I gained a diverse musical background. I have been on four tours, including one international tour to the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. I have also had the opportunity to play on two albums, as well as some small free-lance recording projects.  During the pandemic, I worked on my Master’s degree in jazz studies and learned as much as I could about the music business. I am excited to share my experience this year and look forward to some great musical creations.

Classes that I teach: Beginning band, Intermediate band, Advanced band, Jazz band, and Music Theory.
