The Central Visual and Performing Arts Dance Department, under the direction of Ray Parks, is well known throughout the Midwest for being the “best public high school for dance instruction”.  Students accepted into CVPA's Dance program receive training in a variety of dance genres from professional dancers and instructors. The CVPA Dance Department has dance companies from all over the USA coming to CVPA as guest instructors and choreographers.  In addition, alumni who have made a career in dance, come back to guest instruct and lecture.  

High school students wanting to major in dance or plan to have a career in the dance field are encouraged to audition for the dance program at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School.
