    Meet the Librarian

Hello and welcome to the Library!
My name is Mrs. Elizabeth Greifzu, and I am thrilled to serve as the librarian this year at Jefferson. This will be my 21st year teaching in St. Louis Public Schools. I hold a BA in Elementary Education from Lindenwood University, an MA in Elementary Education from Maryville University, and a special reading certification that I completed in 2020. Over the years, I have taught both 2nd and 3rd grade, and I’m excited to bring my passion for teaching and learning into the library.

    My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that all children are unique and have something special to contribute to their education. My goal is to help students express themselves, accept who they are, and embrace the differences in others. I strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel encouraged to explore their interests and reach their full potential.

What to Expect in the Library
This year, we’ll engage in many great activities that will broaden students' knowledge and inspire their creativity. From discovering new books to developing research skills, we’ll dive into a wide range of topics that not only enrich students’ academic knowledge but also help them grow as caring and informed citizens of the world.

    A Little About Me

    • I have a passion for reading and love helping students find books they can connect with and enjoy.
    • My experience as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher has shaped my understanding of how to support students at different stages of their learning journey.
    • Outside of school, I enjoy cooking, reading, traveling, and family activities.
