Lunch and Learn

  • Lunch and Learn is one of many opportunities for Collegiate students to learn about future professions in our core areas: science and biomedical studies.  Students in grades 10-12 get to eat (non-school) lunch while listening and learning about careers from members of our community. Lunch and Learn sessions occur multiple times over the school year. If you are interested in presenting your profession to Collegiate students, please contact Ms. Samantha Moyerman.

  •  We had a fantastic spring semester.  We had 52 students attend the April 25th session arranged and spearheaded by our Collegiate Advisory Board.  There were 19 students with an entomologist.  He showed them several bugs that they enjoyed getting to see up close. He also talked a little about consuming insects for protein. He brought Chocolate Chip Cricket cookies for the students to try. There were 33 students with a psychiatrist.  They enjoyed hearing about his medical journey, and he did a good job of keeping the students engaged the entire time.  He brought a few medical tools with him that he demonstrated to the students.  It was a great end to the series this semester, and the students are looking forward to the fall.
