Hello and Welcome!

     My name is Ms. Timperman and I am so excited to be starting my third year teaching here at Sumner High School. I graduated from Saint Louis University in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Math, and shortly after, I earned my secondary mathematics educator certification in secondary mathematics. Prior to starting my teaching career at Sumner, I had the privilege of teaching at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School (CVPA) within the SLPS district.

     Teaching is my passion, and I am dedicated to helping each student grow academically and personally. I know that math can be challenging, but I believe that every student can develop and strengthen their math skills! My classroom is a welcoming space where respect for each other and for our learning environment is a top priority. I am committed to fostering resilience, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to prepare students for the challenges they will face beyond high school.

     In my free time, I like to hang out with my cat named Ollie, listen to music, cook, craft, and bake. I grew up as a competitive gymnast where I learned the value of grit and hard work that I carry into all aspects of my life, including teaching. Gymnastics will always have my heart and I stay involved in the sport by spending many of my winter weekends judging gymnastics.
