Classroom Rules and Expectations
-
Peabody Elementary has a school-wide Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct was explained during the first week of school. The Code of conduct is as follows:
- (E) Expect Excellent
- (A) Accept Responsibility
- (G) Give Respect
- (L) Lead by Example
- (E) Everyone is Equal
- (S) Stay Safe
The main goal is to encourage the development of self-discipline. My classroom management plan offers guidance in making good choices and taking responsibility for one’s action. With this management plan in place, I can provide a safe, nurturing environment for all students. When a student feels safe in their environment, their academics, emotional, and social growth will develop throughout the year.
Reinforcements and Consequences
To encourage positive behavior I will recognize appropriate behavior through verbal praise, smiles, positive notes, stickers/stamps, candy, computer time, treasure box, and phone calls home.
If a child is involved in any action that endangers or hurts him/her or others (hitting, kicking, pushing, biting, or pinching) or if a behavior disrupts the class in such a manner that it makes learning impossible for other students, an office referral will be written immediately. At that point, the administration will handle the problem and determine the consequences.
Rewards
Students will be awarded with PBIS points using ClassDojo. The student will have the opportunity to shop in the school PBIS Store to redeem their points for items in the store.
The goal of this plan is to help develop productive citizens in society.
