Buder Elementary School

 

 

Hello! I am very excited to begin my tenth year at Buder. I believe that through rigorous and hands-on learning, children are able to learn and grow to reach their full potential.  It is my goal to foster a classroom community where students are responsible for their learning, respect and appreciate the strengths of others, and aid in the development of the social and academic growth of their peers. In my opinion, all students can and want to learn, though they may do so at different paces and in different ways. To foster academic growth in my students, I build a positive rapport with each individual to better understand them as a pupil and as an individual. 

 

 

 

 The 2023-2024 school year is my ninth year at Buder.   I earned my bachelors degree from Southwestern Illinois University Edwardsville in May 2012 and have been lucky to experience teaching in several grade levels and in many different communities. 

 

I live in Illinois with my husband, two sons (ages 5 and infant), and two very spoiled dogs.  In our spare time we are working on remodeling our "fixer upper," playing at the park and in the yard, and we enjoy hiking.  I have always loved to read and it is one of my favorite ways to wind down in the evenings. Some of my favorite young adult series are Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and the I Survived Series.
