About Me

This is my eighth year being a part of the Buder family!  I am absolutely honored to be your child’s 2nd grade teacher.

I grew up in St. Louis and I'm the product of the public-school system, as well as state and private universities.  I received my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Fontbonne University. Before coming to Buder, I taught in the Ritenour School District and in the Webster Groves School District. I also coach the Buder soccer team with Joshua Head & Mr. Signor, and chair the Spelling Bee Competition and Yearbook committees.

I have been married for thirty-one years to my husband, Richard, and have two children, Michael and Emily.  Michael is 27 years old, a graduate of Missouri State University in Business, and is the goalkeeper for FC Tulsa - USL Championship team. He is married and his wife's name is Courtney.  Emily is 24 years old, a graduate of the University of Arkansas in Interior Architecture and works for CannonDesigns, here in St. Louis.  We also have a Dakota Sport dog, Bixby.  Richard and I enjoy riding motorcycles (yes, my own motorcycle - see my video), swimming, playing and walking with our dog, Bixby, playing with Emily's dog and Bixby's big half-sister, Margo, reading, and watching our kids continue to grow into young adults.  I am also an AVID college and professional sports fan.

Educational Philosophy

If you are not willing to learn, no one can make you.  If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you! ~Zig Ziglar~

I am only a part of a child's success.  I provide guidance for the child to learn. However, it is the community of teachers, administrators, parents and the child that allows him/her to ultimately reach their fullest potential.

It is my goal to foster a classroom community where students enjoy the journey of learning, feel safe to make mistakes, learn from them, accept and be responsible for learning, and accept the perspectives of others to help each other grow academically and socially.

Having parental support and open lines of communication is an essential part of this success.  As their teacher, I believe each child grows at a different pace and in different ways; however, each child can grow and progress.
