Welcome to My Web Page!
Hello! My name is Karen Forbis, and I’m proud to serve as the Special Education Cross-Categorical Teacher at Mann Elementary. This year is my eleventh year in education, and I’m excited to continue supporting our students as the Resource Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of teaching students with a variety of strengths and needs, including those on the autism spectrum, students with Down syndrome, and students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. I love collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create consistency and help every student reach their full potential.
My goal is to help students grow into confident, independent learners by giving them the tools, strategies, and encouragement they need to succeed.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Deaf Education from Fontbonne University and my Master of Education from Grand Canyon University. I’m certified in Elementary Education, Deaf Education, and Special Education: Cross-Categorical.
Most importantly, I look forward to creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive classroom where every student can thrive. Here’s to a wonderful year of learning and growth!
