Dear Gateway Families,

Hello.  My name is Stephanie Winters and I am your child’s preschool teacher at Gateway Elementary School.  I am so excited to have your child in my classroom this year.

I thought that you might like to know a little bit about me since I will be working with your child. I taught for five years in another school district before accepting a preschool teacher position at Hickey Elementary in November of 2006.  In 2018, I began teaching preschool at Gateway Elementary School.  I enjoy listening to music and using it as a way to remember information.  I am an avid reader, so I am thrilled to be a part of helping your child learn to read. 

Our curriculum is standards-based.  That means we teach to the Missouri Early Learning Standards.  Your child will be assessed based on the MELS as well.  In our classroom, we use the Project Construct framework, which is a hands-on, minds-on approach to learning.
