- Meet the Teacher
-
Greetings,
I'm Mr. Scott Carpenter, and I've been on an incredible journey as an educator since 2005. While my roots are in teaching social studies for a whopping 18 years, I'm excited to kick off my very first year as a math teacher. My teaching philosophy centers around cultivating mutual respect – I believe that when students and teachers respect each other, the learning experience becomes truly enriching.
My educational path has taken me to St. Louis since 2011, where I've become an integral part of the community and the district since 2014. Joining the Compton Drew family has me brimming with anticipation as I step into this new role.
Beyond the classroom, life keeps me quite busy. I'm a proud father of five amazing adult children, and my wonderful fiancé Sarah, and trusty black lab, "Arlo," keep me company at home. I earned my stripes at Arizona State University, and my Sun Devil spirit still burns bright. When I'm not shaping young minds, you'll find me exploring new destinations through travel or trying to perfect my golf swing on the course.
Sports are my other big passion – I'm an ardent supporter of the Phoenix Suns, St. Louis Cardinals, and the Dallas Cowboys. And of course, I'm always cheering for my alma mater's sports teams, the Arizona State Sun Devils.
I can't wait to bring my diverse experience, unyielding dedication, and infectious enthusiasm to the students at Compton Drew. My classroom isn't just about academics; it's a space where students can grow, thrive, and find inspiration to reach their full potential.
Regards,
Scott Carpenter
