  • Hello 4th Grade Families!

I am very excited for the 24-25 school year and to be your Scholar's teacher! My name is Miss Patten. This is my second year working for Saint Louis Public Schools as a 4th grade table. I am originally from South Florida, where I was a third grade teacher and fulfilled the ESSER position. I am very passionate about education and my professional philosophy centers on hands-on, engaging experiences that allow students to relate their learning in the classroom to the real world around them and fostering a strong, caring classroom community. I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and minor in English from Florida Gulf Coast University.

I look forward to having an amazing school year. If you ever need to contact me, I am available at taylor.patten@slps.org, ClassDojo, or via phone at  314-645-1201.

  • Dear parents and guardians of my wonderful Fourth Graders,

Greetings and warmest welcome to the new school year at Mason School of Academic and Cultural Literacy! I am absolutely thrilled to embark on this educational journey alongside your incredible scholars as their fourth-grade teacher. My name is Miss Patten and I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to guide your children's learning and growth over the course of this coming year.

Allow me to share a bit about myself: I am from south Florida and a proud graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a minor in English. I also hold certifications in reading and ESOL (English as a Second Language). I have a passion for teaching and a deep commitment to fostering a love of learning among young, growing minds. I believe that students thrive most when in an environment that nurtures curiosity, builds character, and allows students to engage in hands-on experiences that relate to the real world.

In our classroom, we will not only delve into the fascinating world of academics but also explore the rich tapestry of cultures that make up our diverse community. I am a strong advocate for cultivating cultural literacy, empathy, and open-mindedness among our students. It is my hope that through this approach, we can empower our fourth graders to become well-rounded individuals who appreciate and respect differences.

Communication is vital to a successful partnership between home and school. I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you might have. Regular updates about classroom activities, curriculum, and events will be shared through emails and ClassDojo.

This coming year promises to be filled with exciting challenges, meaningful experiences, and countless opportunities for growth. Together, we can create an enriching and supportive environment that helps your child reach their full potential.

I am committed to making this a memorable and rewarding school year for every student. Let's work together to create a positive and impactful learning journey for our fourth graders. Come join us August 15th from 3-5 PM for Open House and to come see who is in your class, drop off supplies, and meet the teacher!

In order to foster an enriching, safe, and welcoming classroom environment, I am requesting a few additional supplies.

    Warmest regards,

    Miss Patten
