    Classroom Routines & Procedures

    1. Entering the room- Students will line up outside the classroom in front of the lockers, facing forward and silent. Students will receive directions from the teacher and then enter the classroom silently and politely, sit in their assigned seat and begin Do Now.
    2. Exiting the classroom- When given directions, stand up quietly; push in your chair; take all necessary items and trash; line up without touching others or talking; silently face the front of the line; watch where you are going; throw away trash as you exit. Please remember the hall is a quiet area.
    3. Leaving the room- Get permission before leaving the room for any reason. If a student needs to leave the classroom, they will receive a signed hall pass. Any student found without a pass will receive a referral.
    4. Leaving your seat You must raise your hand and receive permission before leaving your seat.
    5. Tardiness- You are late for class if you are not in line when the class enters the classroom. Excessive tardiness will result in a referral.
    6. Absences- It is your responsibility to make up ALL missed assignments. Check with me for missed assignments in the last ten minutes of class.
    7. Cell Phones/Electronic Devices - Cell phones are not permitted on school grounds. However, if a student brings their phone to school, they must turn it in to be locked up until the end of the school day. If a student is seen in class, the hall, the lunchroom or school building with their phone, it will be confiscated and returned by the administration on Fridays.
    8. Obtaining help with assignmentsRaise your hand to get help from me during direct instruction. While independent or partners work quietly, ask those in your pod for help. The rule is “Ask 3 before me”. That means asking three of your peers for help before you ask me. Voices are expected to remain at a ‘2’ volume in your pod. During assessments, students may not ask for assistance from peers and voices are to remain at zero until ALL assessments are submitted.
    9. Handing in finished work/homework- Check to make sure your name (first and last name) is on your paper and then place the work in the assigned basket or submitted through TEAMS. I will not accept any work that is left on my desk or in any other area of the classroom. Additionally, students' assignments should not be submitted via email.
    10. Restroom- Restroom breaks are before school, before and after RA (Period 2), during the assigned time in 4th period and during lunch. Students may not leave the room the first and last ten minutes of class.
    11. Fire drill/ Other drills- Stop everything; stand up and assemble in a line at the door quickly with the teacher, but without running or pushing to exit the building; do not cover your ears; do not make any side trips; wait patiently, calmly, and quietly in your designated area in line outside until we are allowed to go inside; remain with your group while waiting.
