Alex Schenk
Coach Alex Schnenk joins Collegiate as the Cross Country coach for the Fall 2024 season.
Alex Schenk is in his first year coaching Cross Country. He has coached the ‘Students on the Go!’ Half Marathon and 10K training group at Collegiate for the last 8 years. This will be his ninth year as a teacher at Collegiate. He is an avid runner himself and competes for the local Big River Racing team. In May 2023, he ran the Lincoln Marathon in 3 hours and 10 minutes and hopes to break 3 hours to qualify for the Boston Marathon.
Notable accomplishments at Collegiate:
2017: Sent first athlete, Audrey Steele, to state championships in Jefferson City.
2018: 1st place in Districts and sent first (ever) Collegiate team, Women's Varsity, to the state championships.
2019: Six runners qualified for the state meet: For the ladies, Freshman Grace Ebenhoh, Sophomore Sydney Smith and Junior Audrey Steele and for the Boys, Sophomore Atticus Jones, Junior Muhammad Rayyan and Junior Amir Taylor-El.
