Mrs. Huling was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended and graduated from the St. Louis Public Schools District. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Communication Journalism from Washington University.

She began with the St. Louis Public School District as a substitute teacher, where she discovered a love for teaching. She then earned her certificate in Elementary Education from Harris-Stowe State University. Mrs. Huling has taught grades 1-5. She is currently a second-grade teacher at Hodgen Tech Elementary. As an educator, she believes that great change comes about through knowledge.
