Welcome to Hodgen Tech Academy – where tradition meets innovation, and excellence is the heartbeat of our learning community! As the oldest continually running school and the newest school building in St. Louis Public Schools, Hodgen Tech Academy is a beacon of history and progress.

Established in 1884, Hodgen School has been a pillar of academic commitment and uniformed pride. Inspired by the legacy of Dr. John T. Hodgen, a multifaceted professional in medicine and academia, our school strives to instill the same enthusiasm for learning, hard work, and excellence in our staff and students.

In December 2000, we proudly brought this rich history across the street to our state-of-the-art facility, marking a new chapter in our journey. Our modern campus boasts exciting features such as a cutting-edge MakerSpace, enhanced classroom technology, an expansive library/media center, and a dedicated gallery to showcase our scholars' projects.

In the 2022-2023 school year, our Hodgen Inventors Robotics & Coding team secured first place in the St. Louis Public School's First Lego League Competition. Their remarkable performance continued as they competed against 220 teams regionally, earning an impressive 19th place.

Aligned with our school motto, "We Read to Lead and Succeed," Hodgen Tech Academy proudly presents the Excellent Academic Reading Tutors Program. This initiative is more than a program; it's a lifeline for scholars, nurturing the invaluable gift of building a love for reading. Through daily academic mentoring and small group learning, scholars and community members unite to enhance the readiness, reading, and language skills of kindergarten, second, and third-grade children.

Community involvement is at the core of Hodgen Tech Academy. We are an Arts Partner School through Springboard for Learning/Young Audiences, and we extend our heartfelt appreciation to partners such as The Little Bit Foundation, Lafayette Park United Methodist Church, Webster United Methodist Church, Eads Park Neighborhood Association, Gate District Association, Barr Branch Library, and Junior Achievement.
