Meet Mrs. Nolan

This is my fourteenth year at Froebel Literacy Academy.  I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Harris-Stowe State University.  I worked in retail for 20 years before returning to the classroom to pursue a career in education.  I live in Illinois with my husband, Jim, and our very spoiled fur-babies,, Punky and Cardi.

I enjoy crossword puzzles, trying out new recipes, researching my family tree, and my morning cup of coffee.  My guilty pleasure is Days of our Lives.  I started watching it in 1965 with my grandma, and it always makes me think of her.

I like any shade of blue.  My favorite foods are grilled cheese, tomato soup, and York peppermint patties.  I also enjoy watching the Hallmark Channel Christmas movies.

Welcome to our Classroom!

We have had a great 1st Semester of School!  As we enter the 2nd Semester, please be ready to learn, work hard, and have a lot of fun.  Together, we will make this a great school year.

Froebel Literacy Academy utilizes the SLPS Standards Based Curriculum.  In addition, our Pre-K classrooms  follow Project Construct,  which is a  learner-centered curriculum that allows children to construct their knowledge through interactions with their physical and social environments.  Our students will engage in meaningful instruction in Literacy, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Related Arts daily.  Students will become proficient in using iPads to complete some of their independent lessons, play learning games, and participate in group learning activities.  All students have an iPad available to use at school.  Parents that have completed the iPad contract can expect to see their child's iPad sent home with them in anticipation of any AMI (virtual) learning days.  If your child has logged out of of the Teams app or ABC Mouse app,  please contact me for the login information and password.  We do not have login access to all of the apps on the iPad.  Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions or concerns.  I will do my best to respond within 24 hours.
