The purpose of our physical education program is to get middle school students active in a regular fitness activity to combat childhood obesity, heart disease and diabetes. In today’s world obesity, diabetes and heart disease are at an all time high and we think we can turn those numbers around with our program. Maybe you’re an awesome athlete getting ready to compete at the college level. Maybe you’re an athlete who wants to make varsity next year. Maybe you don’t want to compete in athletics at all, but want to be stronger and faster. At Compton-Drew we can get you in the game.
Biography:I grew up in Maryland Heights Mo. and attended the Pattonville schools until high school and was fortunate enough to attend DeSmet Jesuit High School. I played 2 years of basketball and four years of soccer there and was able to win a state championship in 1993. After high school I went on to attend Forest Park C.C. and had the chance to play under one of the best coaches in Saint Louis, Mo. Hall of Fame coach Pat McBride. We were very successful and had the chance to play in the NJCAA tournament in Trenton, N.J. After two productive years at Forest Park I earned a full scholarship to play Division-1 soccer at Western Illinois University where I earned my Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education. I earned my Master's Degree in School Administration from the Lindenwood University in 2016. I'm married and have three children.I have been teaching and coaching at Compton-Drew for 20+ years. I am the Related Arts Team Leader and Athletic Director. I received the P.E. Teacher of the Year award in 2012. I teach the P.E. classes and our goal is to get our students to the Next Level physically, mentally and socially. I have coached boys and girls basketball, boys soccer and the bicycle club. We have won many championships under my leadership and the last one came with the boys soccer team in 2015. We have been very blessed at Compton-Drew and a lot of our student-athletes have gone on to be very successful adults.WE ARE? C-D!!!SYLLABUSVIDEOS
