Dear CA Students and Families,
It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed
Assistant Principal of CA. I am honored to serve in this role,
and am eager to see each student grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Although I may
not see you in the building during the start of the school year, I will “Zoom” into your virtual
classes to say “Hello”. Despite the uncertainties and limitations during this time, I plan to work
closely with Principal Griffin to make this a great school year.
I have spent most of my professional career working with high school students. I taught Special
Education courses at Sumner High and English Language Arts at Innovative Concept Academy
(ICA). I also served as the principal of ICA before joining Clyde C. Miller Career Academy as
the assistant principal. Not only have I served in teaching and leadership roles within the
district, I am also a proud graduate of SLPS. I graduated from Vashon High School many, many
years ago and truly cherish the opportunity to give back to the St. Louis Public Schools
community.
My decision to become an administrator came from a strong desire to make a positive impact on
an entire school community. As the mother of two girls, ages 9 and 22, I understand the
importance of child development and creating a plan to meet the unique needs of all students. As
the assistant principal, I will work diligently with our faculty and staff to carry out the vision and
mission of Carnahan School of the Future. I believe that as a school, we play a fundamental role
in positioning students for future success. I am committed to working closely with students,
teachers, parents, and community members to ensure that all students achieve their full potential
and are prepared for the next phase of their educational journey.
I can’t wait to meet each and every one of you in person. If throughout the course of the year you
have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email. I can be reached at
ciciley.johnson@slps.org
Wishing you and your family a safe and healthy school year!
Sincerely,
Ciciley Gordon
