Hello Woerner Families! 

Welcome to the Woerner Elementary 2024-2025 school year.  I look forward to the new school year at Woerner. My focus is to ensure your child receives the best possible education while under our care. We take academics very seriously, and I welcome the task of supporting your child on their educational path. Woerner is a great place for kids,  and we are excited you are joining us on this academic and character journey. 

We are looking forward to welcoming students back.  The first day of school for the 2024-2025 school year begins on Monday, August 19th. 

Very shortly, your child’s teacher will be contacting you.   Our educators bring a wealth of knowledge to our school, and we look forward to welcoming new staff members.  The students will be excited when they meet these amazing teachers.

**School starts at 9:25 AM. Breakfast is served from 9:00 AM– 9:45 AM.

**Students SHOULD NOT arrive at school before 9:00 AM.

For the safety of our children, NO CARS will be allowed on the school playground, including rainy/snowy days.  Students should be dropped off at any of the entrances (gates) to the playground.

**Morning Drop Off:**

**Walkers/Car Riders:**  Students will enter the building through door #6 (north back door).  

Note: The back door will be locked at 9:30 AM.  Any student arriving after 9:30 AM must enter through the front door, sign the tardy book, and get a tardy slip.  

**Bus Riders:  Students will enter the building through door #2 (south gym door). 

**Dismissal:**

School ends at 4:22 PM.

**Early Dismissal:**

There will be NO Early Dismissals after 3:45 PM.  Students will only be released to their parents for early dismissal for doctor’s appointments or emergencies.  Parents should report to the main office upon arrival at school.  The secretary will call the student down to the office for early dismissal.  The parent must sign the student out.  All time missed will count against the student’s attendance.

**Exiting Procedures:**

Woerner students are dismissed from all four doors.  Students in grades Kg., 1, and 2 will be dismissed from the northwest door at the rear of the school.  They will exit the school yard through the north gate. 

Students in grade 3 will be dismissed from the southeast door at the front of the school.  

Students in grades 4 and 5 will be dismissed from the northeast door at the front of the school.  Older students should meet up with parents and younger siblings by walking out the front doors, and around to the back schoolyard. 

Parents should park their cars around the perimeter of the school in designated parking spots.  Please park your car on the street nearest your child’s dismissal door.  NO CARS SHOULD STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET TO PICK UP THEIR CHILD.  Please park in a parking spot and wait for your child on the sidewalk in front of the school.

**Open House**

Open House is Thursday, August 15th, from 1:00-3:30 pm.  We hope to see you there.
