Welcome to our Room 010 Kindergarten Classroom Website!
Hello Parents!😊
First, let me say...YOU GOT THIS!!!
A daily routine—knowing what they will be doing and what comes next—is the type of predictability that allows children to self-regulate and learn time-management skills. A routine can also help you with budgeting time and trying to fit everything in to your day.😉 Building homework and reading time (15-20 minutes) into your evening routine will help build your student's skills and retention of concepts learned. Please work with your student to complete his/her homework packet each night Monday through Thursday.
If we are Virtual Learning, we will be using the Microsoft Teams platform to post assignments. Click here to go directly to our class Teams page: Ms. Sample's Class Teams Page 2023-2024

Encourage your Kindergartener to read to you or to a younger sibling at least 15-20 minutes each evening so he may practice reading strategies he/she is learning.
To help you meet this goal, check out Woerner's online subscription to Tumblebooks.com where you will find leveled online story books free of charge (Login: Woerner314 Password: books). There are many selections on the website that will read the story to your child until he is able to read on his own. Please also encourage your student to read picture books from his own paper book collection, even if it is just a picture read until he is able to read words. (Each student in our class will receive a free new grade level book to keep at home from Scholastic Book Club every month of the school year to help build your home library!)

Students are allowed to use the restroom as needed. Our scheduled restroom breaks listed here are times when we go to the restroom as a class. Please make sure your child has a change of clothes in his/her classroom cubbie in case of accidents and spills (shirt, underwear, pants, socks). Thank you for your help with this.
If you have any questions about anything, please reach out to me via email at angela.sample@slps.org.
My office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:20-3:10 while students are in ancillary class. This is when I will most likely be able to answer e-mail. E-mail is the best way to reach me. Thank you!
