Mrs. Wideman
Reading with your child or encouraging them to read to you creates a valuable one-on-one opportunity for communication. Studies indicate that “the more words present in a child’s language environment, the more words they will learn. Stronger language skills by kindergarten correlate with better reading abilities, increasing the likelihood of graduating from high school.”
To help your child establish a positive routine, please ensure they arrive at school on time. The beginning of the day is dedicated to group activities and planning, which we believe are essential for their development. Children who are habitually late may feel excluded, which can negatively impact their entire day.
At Peabody, our staff is dedicated to providing every child with the best possible start in this critical phase of their education. We cannot overstate the importance of good communication between home and school for your child's welfare. Please feel free to reach out to me or the office with any questions or concerns you may have. We are here to support you.
