Welcome!  I am Michel Krevenas, your Art Teacher at Ashland Elementary School.  I look forward to my third year teaching and being part of the great faculty. I am excited to be working with such amazing artists and seeing the wonderful creations they will add to our treasure trove.  We will explore new techniques using examples from around the world and learn about many different artists that have shaped our world.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, but a resident of St. Louis for 31 years with a husband, (2) cats and a dog.  My education includes a BFA in ceramic sculpture and costume design from Alfred University. I also hold an MFA from the University of Colorado in mixed media sculpture. I have worked as a curator and a museum administrator.  I had a second career working as a Pastry Chef and Caterer and a third career in Sales. Currently, I am  a Teaching Fellow pursuing a Master of Teaching at SLU.  My own artwork involves making and layering many different pieces of metal, glass and ceramic to create a final work incorporating it all. My inspiration and artistic ability were a gift from my family and there is no way I could live a life that did not include artistic expression.
