My name is Sara Sims and I am the district audiologist for the St. Louis Public Schools. The 2020-2021 school year marks my third year with SLPS. I travel to schools across the district supporting our students' who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.

I love audiology!  I have three sons, two of whom have cochlear implants. I enjoy reading books, doing DIY around the house, and singing with the community choir.

I graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS) and a doctorate from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

  • What is a Pediatric Educational Audiologist?

A pediatric educational audiologist is a professional with a doctoral (AuD) or master's (MA) degree in audiology and has the technical expertise to examine and work with children and teens. The audiologist performs tests to determine if hearing loss is present, if so, the type, degree, and configuration. As a hearing professional, we help students receive support in the classroom.
