Mrs. Nafeesah Lester

Welcome! I am Nafeesah Lester

Welcome to all of you!  It is pleasure to continue to serve each of you Virtually fort he 2020-21 school year.  As we embark upon this very different but exciting journey together,  I would like to share a little about me and my expectations.

An educator of 19 years St. Louis Public Schools, my role has consisted of being engaged and interactive with many children. Through this role, it has helped me understand and realize my purpose in life. I have been chosen to educate and empower women and children in who they are by building up their self-esteem and diminishing their self-failures.

Like most modern women today I am a women that wears many hats. I am a wife, a mother of two, an educator and an entrepreneur. I began my career in the St. Louis public schools 18 years ago as a substitute teacher.  In those 18 years my path has led me  through various positions, such as: substitute teacher, full time teacher, dean of students, intervention specialist and currently special education alternative department head. I completed my Bachelors of science degree in Business Administration with a Marketing Minor,  and two masters degrees one in Special Education and Reading and an Educational Specialist Degree in Education Administration while working in the St. Louis public schools.

My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and have the ability to learn in a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere for all students. I will provide a safe environment where students are comfortable and are invited to share there ideas, express themselves in a respectful way and have fun learning. I expect nothing less out of any child that enters into my learning environment.
