School Counseling Curriculum Needs Assessment
The school counseling department at Gateway Elementary conducted a school counseling curriculum needs assessment with a sample of students in grades 3-5. Self-reported data showed that, overall, students perceive the social/emotional development content area as the most important curricular content area within the Missouri Comprehensive School Counseling Program, followed by our other content areas of academic development and career development. Results also explore which learning outcomes within the content areas are perceived as most important. Within this report you will find a summary of findings, as well as details about survey methodology, results (disaggregated by grade level) and recommendations. Information from this report can be used for informing decisions around planning and implementing school counseling curriculum activities next school year.
