Ms. Shirmel Bell

Ms. Bell is a Missouri native born and raised in St. Louis County.  She earned a Bachelor of Art in Biology from UMSL in 2012 and completed  a Master of Art in Special Education program at Fontbonne University in 2021.  She began her journey as a classroom teacher  the 2020-2021 but has a background in the special education setting.  She was an applied behavioral analyst paraprofessional for St. Louis County Special School District from 2009-2016.  Ms. Bell joined the team at ETS at Madison in 2017 as a substitute teacher and later became a full time ICA.  She spends here summers working in summer inclusion program for special needs students, she worked at Camp Giant Steps for 5 years as a camp counselor and also worked as an inclusion site director for Strength and Honor summer camp. She has volunteered for many programs related to special education including the Walk for Autism and Butterfly Dreams pageant to name a couple.  She was recently inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa honors society and is also a member of Beta Beta Beta biological honors society. Education is her passion!

Outside the classroom, Ms. Bell is the ultimate family person.  On weekends you can find her sitting around at her grandparent's house learning family history and joking with family members or taking her niece on an outing.  She loves to cook, dance and create arts and crafts.  Ms. Bell enjoys to live life as a tourist whether she is exploring new places in her home town or visiting a new city she's always excited to learn or experience something new.
