I'm glad you are interested in the JROTC program here at Vashon High School. Allow me to take this moment to welcome our incoming freshmen and thank each returning cadet to the program. Vashon's Wolverines Battalion has an excellent reputation for its character and leadership development. 

My name is Sergeant First Class (Ret) Lorenzo Harris, retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service. My JROTC teaching career began at Beaumont High School and, I later joined the Vashon High School Wolverines JROTC program in 2012. 

Military Assignments: Fort Benning, GA, Fort Campbell, KY (2), Friedberg, Germany, Fort Leonard Wood, MO, Schofield Barracks, HI, St. Peters, MO, and Lakeland, FL. 

Teaching Philosophy: As an Army JROTC Instructor, I am very proud and thankful to have this opportunity to educate, inspire, develop, and prepare our cadets for future endeavors. I believe each cadet can and will succeed by applying those skills taught in JROTC, such as critical thinking, self-confidence, oral communications, leadership, team building, decision making, problem-solving, and community service. All students must understand that education, along with opportunity, will provide them the best chance of achieving their goals.
