Welcome Families to the 2024-2025 School Year at Ashland Elementary
As I enter my 5th year at Ashland Elementary, I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year. It is both an honor and a privilege to serve and support our students and families, focusing on their unique needs and helping them thrive.
The Counseling Program follows the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) Model, which is designed to assist students in developing the skills and attitudes essential for success in school and lifelong learning. Together with the student support team, community leaders and stakeholders, I will be supporting students in the areas of Social-Emotional Support, Academics and Career/College Exploration.
I am deeply committed to addressing the needs of the whole child. In alignment with our school's vision, I will also be teaching Character Education to our students. Ashland Elementary upholds five core principles: "Be Safe", "Be Respectful", "Be Responsible","Be Diligent", and "Be Intentional".
During this ongoing time of heightened health awareness, I encourage everyone to continue to prioritize safety and well-being. Please regularly check the district's website at www.slps.org and Ashland Elementary School's website (found under the SCHOOLS section on the district's main page) for the latest updates and resources.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Let's work together to make this a fantastic school year.
Sincerely,
Ms. Garnita Echols, MA
