Having a safe, positive, and consistent atmosphere is essential for a successful learning environment. It is this reason that social behavior skills are an integral part of the curriculum in my classroom. Behavior is a form of communication and students will learn positive methods to communicate with one another and with staff members.
To achieve this, students will be held accountable to reasonable expectations under the following headings:
Be Respectful
*Use kind words and tone *Raise hand to speak *Wait patiently for what you want
Be Responsible and Safe
*Keep hands, feet, and all objects to yourself *Keep all 4 legs of chairs and desks on floor *Focus on your own school work and learning
Be a Problem Solver
*Talk about problems calmly *Use calming techniques when angry or frustrated *Pause and think before acting
