Mallinckrodt Academy of Gifted Instruction

My name is Ms. Dixon and I am a 2nd grade teacher at Mallinckrodt Academy.  I started teaching in 2006.  My first 7 yrs. of teaching was in special education.  I have taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade and 5th grade in the past.  I am excited about being back in 2nd grade!  I graduated from the University of Missouri - St. Louis with my B.S. in Sociology and a minor in Psychology.  I went back to school in 2006 to obtain my teacher's certificate from the University of Missouri - St. Louis.  I then proceeded to obtain a Masters in Secondary Education and a Masters in Elementary Education, also from the University of Missouri - St. Louis.  I attended Lindenwood University to obtain my certificate in Gifted Education.  I am currently certified in Special Education, Elementary Education and Gifted Education. 

I am a mother of four children.  I have two sons and two daughters, all of whom are now officially adults.  I was born and raised in South St. Louis City and still reside in South St. Louis City.  In the evenings and every other weekend, I work as a pharmacy technician.  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  When  I have free time, I enjoy being outside, doing yard work, and doing home improvement projects.  I am excited about teaching 2nd grade this year with Ms. Wright.
