2024-25 Student & Family Handbook - please review school policies and procedures. In addition to these policies, all students are subject to the SLPS Code of Conduct.
**Updated Policies**
Late Arrivals - A parent/guardian must accompany and sign in students arriving after 7:30 am. A phone call or email will not be accepted after 7:30 am. The school receives notification when district-provided transportation is not running and/or running late. Therefore, the only exceptions to this rule are (1) the late arrival is due to a verifiable issue with district-provided transportation and/or (2) the student arrives with a medical note from an appointment previously communicated to the Principal and/or Clerk/Typist. Students may only make up assignments if the tardy is excused. If you anticipate any challenges adhering to this attendance policy, we encourage you to reach out to our school administration team to discuss your specific situation and explore potential accommodations.
Backpacks/Bookbags and Personal Items - All items brought to school are subject to search. The school or district is not liable for personal items brought to school. Students may bring a backpack/bookbag and one personal item (i.e. purse, fanny pack, etc. measuring less than 11x11x6 inches) All backpacks must be mesh or clear. Students playing a sport may bring a school-issued sports bag during their season of play. This counts as one of their two items.
Dress Code - Hoodies, pajama pants, skin-tight, or see through garments are prohibited in school. Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes must be worn at all times. Slides, flip flops, Crocs, bubble shoes, and house shoes are prohibited.
