Nahed Chapman New American Academy is named after the late Director of ESOL Services for St. Louis Public Schools, Nahed Chapman.

Ms. Chapman was an advocate for children who came to SLPS from other countries.  She fought diligently to create a safe, loving environment where children could learn English and assimilate to life in America.

Ms. Chapman was an immigrant herself, coming from Egypt.

We are proud to continue her legacy by nurturing and loving our New Americans at our school today.
