HumJambo (Hello All)!!!

I am Assistant Principal, Mwalimu Wallace and I am so excited to be here at Bertha Knox Gilkey Pamoja Prep Academy @ Cole for my second year! I am truly honored to continue the work here as a newer member of the Pamoja Prep family.  Although this is just my second year in this building, I am not new to education nor St. Louis Public Schools.

This fall marks my 21st year in both education and SLPS.  I have served as a teacher, administrator, Teaching Learning Facilitator, and Consultant Teacher.  I am also a lifelong learner.  Currently I am on a quest to complete my doctoral studies so that I may continue to hone the craft I love so well.  

Here at Pamoja we are are guided by:

     - the Seven principles of the Nguzo Saba: Umoja (Unity), Kujichagulia (Self-Determination), Ujima (Collective Work & Responsibility), Ujamaa (Coopererative Economics), Nia (Purpose), Kuumba (Creativity), and Imani (Faith)

     - the tenets of the African Creed, by Molefi Asante, and

     - Pamoja's Pledge of Honor

Through the spirit of these principles, values, and code of conduct, we will continue to foster academic excellence, character building, and leadership development, thus preparing our watoto (children) for the society in which we live.  

As we continue to navigate the unfamiliiar territory in the ways we teach and learn, I am super excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.  I look forward to working with each of you.  My door is always open so please feel free to reach out at any time.  My contact information is listed on this page.
