Regular Classroom Teacher
Hello! My name is Ms. Kimberly Collins, and I’m proud to be in my second year at Hamilton Elementary and my third year with St. Louis Public Schools. I bring over 30 years of experience in early childhood education, having served in a variety of roles, including Head Start/Early Head Start educator, Pre-K teacher, Parent Educator/Doula, and teacher assistant.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (Birth–3rd Grade) and a Master’s degree in Education. I spent my early childhood in Los Angeles before moving to St. Louis at age 11, where I attended Yeatman Middle School and Lindbergh High School.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, baking, crocheting, caring for my houseplants, and online shopping. I’m also a proud mother of two adults.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in creating a safe, welcoming space where every child feels valued and encouraged to learn. I believe young children learn best through hands-on experiences, meaningful relationships, and a supportive environment that nurtures their curiosity and confidence. I strive to build strong connections with families and help each child grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
I’m looking forward to a wonderful year of growth and discovery with my students!
