• Welcome to the Dewey IS Elementary School Principal's Corner

Dewey International Studies Elementary School is a unique school that integrates the study of world languages into the elementary curriculum.  Dewey offers the following world languages: Japanese, French and Spanish. Students begin studying each of the languages in preschool. Beginning in third grade, students specialize in a language of their choice. Additionally, each classroom at Dewey adopts a country of study to continue the international theme into the regular classroom. Teachers infuse the study of the adopted country into their standards-based curriculum.

Dewey offers a variety of resources including ELL and Gifted. Dewey also has numerous partnerships including University of Missouri-St. Louis, Washington University, Webster University, MICDS, Junior Achievement, and OASIS. The PTO at Dewey is very active and involves our parents as partners at the school. If you would like to schedule a visit, please contact me at Andrew.Donovan@slps.org.
