• Hello! My name is Kellie Godfrey and I am so excited to be your child's visual art teacher. This is my fifth year with SLPS and third year at Patrick Henry teaching art. I have previously taught PK-1st grade but switched to the art room because I believe in the power of creative expression and really enjoy working with the kids each year and seeing them grow.

At Mizzou, I earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in learning, teaching, and curriculum. I have an early childhood and K-12 art education certification. When I was 24, I served with the Peace Corps as a community youth empowerment volunteer in Fiji. I lived there for two years and learned so much about the culture, island life, and the importance of community. I grew up in St. Louis and still find new things and places to explore. My favorite places are Forest Park and all the cool places inside, the City Museum, and Castlewood State Park.

I am looking forward to seeing all the wonderful art that our students will create this year! But I am more excited to watch them learn through the process and their own experimentation.
