    Happy Holidays, Team Versen!

In class today, we reviewed Alternative Method of Instruction (AMI) days. These are inclement weather days when students do not come to the school building, but an old-fashioned snow day has not been called.

Today, your child will come home with an AMI folder. The instruction in this folder is divided into three separate days, in the event that we end up with three separate AMI days this school year. Each day includes a literacy packet with at least one decodable text + comprehension and language skills; social studies instruction; and math practice. The science instruction for the AMI days will always be to draw the weather outside and include yourself in the picture wearing the kind of clothes that you would need to wear that day.

On any given AMI day, the packet work will be due the next school day. Please keep the AMI folder in your child's backpack or at home, until needed. Any AMI day work that is complete may be turned in by placing it in your child's regular homework folder. This is how we will be able to count your child present for the AMI day.

DIGITAL OPTION: Although we will not be meeting online as a class, if your child has a digital device and would like to complete AMI work that way, he or she may complete the following: 1 hour of listening, reading and quizzing in Level Up of Kids A-Z; 30 minutes of social studies in Kids A-Z; 1 hour of math in Freckle; for science take a picture of your child playing outside and send it to me on Dojo.

I will forward each parent their child's login for those digital apps separately from this message.

    We Learn Together,

    Mrs. Versen
