Welcome to Room 205!!
Below is a list of subjects we will cover this year in 3rd grade.
ELA - reading, spelling, writing
- Our ELA program has reading, writing, and spelling. We will also supplement this with stories related to current events and 3rd grade life.
- There is an online version that students can access at home to complete work, read over material, and explore.
- Students will have stories that cross all genres - realistic fiction, fantasy, biographies, myths, folk and traditional tales.
- We will cover units on Environments, Interactions, Heroes, Events, and Solutions.

Math
- We're starting the year with multiplication and division for the first semester.
- Same as the reading program - can access it online.

Science
- We'll be using a number of resources - textbook, trade books, websites, etc.
- Our topics for the year include matter, the body, earth's systems, weather, atmosphere, and earth's resources and environment.
- We'll also be doing investigations and projects on the above topics.
- There may come a time where a student will have to bring a shoebox, toilet/paper towel roll, can, etc. I will give enough notice and have extra if and when this happens.
Social Studies
- Our Social Studies program is aligned with our reading program.
- This year we'll be studying all things Missouri - from the settlement to becoming a state to present day.
- Like ELA and math - all materials can be accessed online.
- The program has lots of projects and movement for learning.

If you have anything to add to our learning - stories about what you learned, how you learned, artifacts, etc. - we'd love to hear from you. I am ALWAYS good with a new way of learning. It's good to over fill our learning tool box.
