Hello and Welcome Walbridge Scholars, staff, parents, and families.

I am Detria Huddleston and I am honored and blessed to be working as the Family & Community Specialist here at Walbridge STEAM Academy. 

In my 20 years of service, I have worked in various capacities in St. Louis Public Schools district. I've earned my B.A. in Criminal Justice, w/ Juvenile emphasis, my M. Ed. in Special Education and am currently working on an A.A.S. in Behavior Health Support, with emphasis on mental Health.

I've always had a passion for working with children and at-risk young people, to provide them with the necessary skills to be productive, engaged, and successful in real life. It is my desire to distribute the basic human necessities, combined with personal counseling and truth.   

Over a decade of service to learners from preschool to adulthood, I have considered being the change and making a difference in our community and believe in our youth to be scholars.  

I am committed and dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of our students, so they can have the proper training, guidance and support they need to be successful in our culture, with such diversity and inclusion. I still believe, with all the new challenges we are facing in today's world, that they have the capacity to make a positive change.
