    BIO:

My passion for art and psychology shaped the early stages of my academic journey.  I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Spelman College, followed by a Master's in Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  During my time working with families at a community health agency in Chicago, I realized I wanted to make a broader impact, leading me to pursue a career in education.

I obtained my Masters of Science in Special Education from City College of New York. While teaching in New York, I gained experience across a range of classroom settings, from elementary to high school, including self-contained classrooms, collaborative team teaching, and English Language Arts and Reading.

My teaching career has also taken me abroad, where I've taught in the UK across various primary, secondary, and Specials Educational Needs (SEN) and ESL environments.  With over 20 years of experience in both traditional and non-traditional educational settings, I believe that learning is a lifelong process, and through learning, we continue to grow.

I am excited to be a part of the AESM learning community and look forward to collaborating with students, colleagues, and families to foster a thriving educational and entrepreneurial environment.
