About Afterschool Programming
Purpose: The purpose of before/afterschool programming is to provide students with academic enrichment and activities to complement the regular school day’s academic program. This provides students with a safe space to engage in a variety of activities centered around STEAM (science, technology, engineering. art, and math) that will support them academically, socially, and emotionally. Afterschool programs incorporate partnerships between schools, families and community members that collaborate to contribute to the growth and success of students.
After-school programming aligns to the following Saint Louis Public Schools (SLPS) strategic values:
- Highly effective educators and leaders
- Joyful and engaged students
- Authentic family and community partnership
All elementary school sites have before and/or After-School Programs. Contact your student’s school for days and times as programming hours vary by school site.
All non-SLPS operated after-school programs are licensed through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and must follow the states’ childcare guidelines.
