Important Information About When Your Benefits End From Human Resources
Dear SLPS Employees,As we near the annual Spring Break period, a number of you have inquired about what happens to your benefits if you leave the District at the end of the school year. Please find the following information provided for your clarity…
- 12 Month Employees
(non-retirees): All benefits will end at midnight on the date that you separate
from the District. That includes both
resignations and terminations.
- 12 Month Retirees:
All benefits will end on the last day of the month in which you separate (retire) from SLPS. For example, if you separate from the District on June 15, your benefits will end on June 30.
- Non 12 Month Employees: All benefits will end at midnight on the date of
separation (resignation/termination). If
you work until the last day of the school year, you will have coverage until August 31.
- Non 12 Month Retirees: All benefits will end on the last day of the month in which you separate (retire) from SLPS. If you work until the last day of the school year, you will have coverage until August 31.
